Math Mammoth is now on Educents

Image
Math is not my thing. Seriously I love music, reading, history etc ... but math NO I hate it. Luckily for me I married someone who loves it. To my husband it just makes sense. Everything is clean cut and either right or wrong, something that frustrates him about my favorite subjects, where everything is more subjective. When we first home-schooling I came across Math Mammoth and I really liked it. My older kids have moved on to other curriculum but Captain uses it and is working his way through 2nd grade. I read it with him sometimes and sometimes he reads it and works through it by himself. What is Math Mammoth? Math Mammoth is a collection of digital lessons and worksheets focused on developing different math skills for children of all ages. You can find lessons that range from basic addition and subtraction to more advanced subjects like statistics and linear equations. My kid finds the no-nonsense, straightforwardness of this book more to his liking." - Tammy L. vi...

This gives your more of an idea of how something may work in your homeschool.   No matter what may be on your lesson plan for 2016, consider the resources below. Members within the Educents community put a list together of their favorite homeschool resources. If you'd like to learn more about the resource, just click the link! 14 Educational Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Image
I love Christmas, and have great memories of Santa. Stockings were always one of my favorite parts of Christmas. One year I remember being very determined to stay up until Santa (well I actually called him Father Christmas being from England) arrived. I remember that I had a little hoop on my Christmas stocking that year and I wrapped it tightly around my finger so I knew that Father Christmas would have to wake me to fill it. What I actually woke to is the loop cut off my stocking... Christmas stockings can bring so much excitement, I remember the year we all used big white wool socks so many fun times. I love that they can be filled sometimes with everyday items, but when stuffed in a sock they become 'magical'. Here's some fun but educational ideas for your Christmas stockings this year;     Personalized Letter from Santa Gone are the days of trying to write in “Santa’s handwriting.” Educents has made it so easy to make your child feel special and loved b...
