Happy 21st Birthday

Image
I can't believe that my little angel would be 21 now. Time passes so fast and yet it feels like yesterday. I found the perfect quote on grief, it's been a long time but this says exactly how I feel. B is for Boo - Blogging through the alphabet

Today I walked past Boo's desk and found a cute note she had written to herself. I'm not sure where she found it but she obviously liked it enough to write it down.

SchoolhouseTeachers.com Review and Special Offer

Image
I have been a member of the Schoolhouse Review Crew for quite a few years now. It's a main part of my homeschooling life and I love it. One of the resources that I use every year for our homeschool is the yearly membership for  SchoolhouseTeachers.com  I really love this website and although it wasn't mandatory for me to write a review on it I knew that I absolutely had to! SchoolhouseTeachers.com has just got an incredible face lift! It is fun and bright and exciting to look around. So of course I had to go and check out all their new content. Jam and Boo have access to my password for the site and Boo had just finished her History course and was on there looking for something new. One of the great things about this website is that you pay one subscription fee and everyone in the family can use it - not matter the ages there is something for everyone. The website itself is really easy to maneuver. You can click on subjects and search that way or you can click on grade

New Word of the Year 'Enjoy'

Image
If you read my last post you will know that I was very sick over New Year. I realized at that time how important it is to enjoy everything and every season of life. I'm not saying we will like it but we need to be able to enjoy it. This year will bring many new experiences. Some good and some not so. However, I want to focus on enjoying the now. Not thinking I'll be happen when...if we spend our life looking for something in the future to be happy we are wishing our life away. I have spend periods of my life feeling like this and I have realized that I don't need to wait. We need to be happy with where we are, what we are doing, and the now. I was sat on New Year's Day wrapped up in a blanket with my box of tissues next to Boo. We played Mastermind, Orthello, and quite a few rounds of Stack the States. Was is a crazy New Year with no parties or friends or even a Midnight countdown - Yes but did I enjoy the time - of course. So this is my goal and 'word' fo

Happy New Year

I nearly made it through 2016 without being sick once. Until Friday I got hit big time. So for the first time in a long time I didn't stay up to ring in the new year. In fact we cheated and watched the fireworks in London online - about 6 hours early. It looks like 2017 will be an interesting one. We start the New Year off by getting a third driver! I'm nervous but excited. Driving test sometime this week! So many other things on the horizon but my main goal is to enjoy the moment and not dwell on things we can't change. So my word for 2017 is to "enjoy". I don't want to stress about things I can't change just enjoy every moment as it happens. So happy New Year, I'm going to try and enjoy today - even though we are starting the new year out with a sick day.
