Favorite Poem of the Weekend - The King's Breakfast by A.A. Milne

I have been reading poems to Captain every night. It's easier than a complete book, but still gives a great connection time. We are reading  Now We Are Six  by A.A. Milne. We have really loved this book but by far our favorite is :- The King's Breakfast by A. A. Milne  The King asked      The Queen, and      The Queen asked      The Dairymaid:      “Could we have some butter for      The Royal slice of bread?”      The Queen asked      The Dairymaid,      The Dairymaid      Said, “Certainly,      I’ll go and tell      The cow      Now      Before she goes to bed.”        The Dairymaid      She curtsied,      And went and told      The Alderney:      “Don’t forget the butter for      The Royal slice of bread.”        The Alderney      Said sleepily:      “You’d better tell      His Majesty      That many people nowadays      Like marmalade      Instead.”        The Dairymaid      Said, “Fancy!”      An

Ozobot Party Thanks to Tryazon

Image
Friday was a huge success! We had our  Ozobot  party thanks to  Ozobot  and  Tryazon . I invited a lot of people, some didn't make it but we still had a great time. Tryazon sent us some Ozobots to share with friends and to learn how to use them. It was a blast, all of the kids loved using them. I asked my kids to play with them before the party and Captain loved it. He sat for an hour drawing routes and maps for the Ozobot. They charge quickly (it's a good job). Everyone who came to the party had a great time. I also had a friend Skype in because she was sick. Her kids really liked it, and I think they may be getting on for Christmas. So not only did my guests get to play with an Ozobot but I also gave one as a prize for a lucky winner. If you have checked out my social media lately you can see the winner's happy smiling face! We really loved these little robots. I will try and do a video soon to post on my  YouTube Channel . You can pick these up from  Toys R U

14 Educational Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Image
I love Christmas, and have great memories of Santa. Stockings were always one of my favorite parts of Christmas. One year I remember being very determined to stay up until Santa (well I actually called him Father Christmas being from England) arrived. I remember that I had a little hoop on my Christmas stocking that year and I wrapped it tightly around my finger so I knew that Father Christmas would have to wake me to fill it. What I actually woke to is the loop cut off my stocking... Christmas stockings can bring so much excitement, I remember the year we all used big white wool socks so many fun times. I love that they can be filled sometimes with everyday items, but when stuffed in a sock they become 'magical'. Here's some fun but educational ideas for your Christmas stockings this year;     Personalized Letter from Santa Gone are the days of trying to write in “Santa’s handwriting.” Educents has made it so easy to make your child feel special and loved b

Ponderizing Verses of the Week...

Image
Well Jam has been on top form and has managed to pass off a a couple of scriptures since my last post. They were quite short ones but very meaningful so I still want to share them. The first one is Psalm 119:105 The second one is Psalm 127:3 And the one he is working on now is Proverbs 3:5-6. This is my favorite scripture ever! It's meaning has changed for me since I first memorized it at 15 but I still love it! Grown-Up Coloring Book Heroines of the Old Testament Coloring Book Review

Image
For the last couple of weeks I have been 'coloring'. There is a huge trend at the moment with coloring books for Adults. I must admit I have been enjoying this over the last few weeks. I was offered a copy of  Heroines of the Old Testament  to review and believe me I have had a blast. The coloring book features 10 women from the Old Testament. The first woman featured is of course Eve, Queen Esther, Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, Miriam, Rahab, Deborah, Ruth, and Hannah .  The designs are amazing, full of Geometric Patterns, Portraits, Animals, Plants. I even lost this book for a few days, I couldn't understand where it went as I always keep it with my other books and office supplies. Eventually I asked my kids if the knew where Mom's coloring book was...I know that sounds funny doesn't it. Well, I noticed Boo went a little quiet and the came to me with the book. She has 'borrowed' it and been coloring in it. She reminded me that I had said she could but I

Whispers in the Reading Room {Litfuse Book Review}

Image
I loved this book. In fact I enjoyed it so much that I read it in less than 24 hours. Now in my defense there was a swim meet involved and so I had very little to do for a whole afternoon. This story is set just after the World Fair in Chicago. Chicago itself has a notorious reputation and this story doesn't disappoint. It's not graphic or nasty just shows a glimpse into the rough and tumble of the underground illegal scene that was rampant during that time. Lydia works in the 'Reading Room' (the library). She becomes interested with a mysterious gentleman 'Sebastian'. He doesn't give his name, nor does he borrow books, just comes in and sits quietly and reads. They both love books and seem to have a lot in common, although they actually come from completely different worlds. A chance meeting starts a chain of events that changes their lives forever. Can Lydia trust Sebastian, who seems to control the city - Is it power or fear or a combination

Ponderize Scripture of the Week 12/2/2015

Jam passed his scripture off on Monday with his  Seminary Teacher . So it's time for another one. Since I jumped out of order last week as I picked up the wrong card. We are back in Psalms. This is one of my favorites.
