Petunia Skincare - {Tomoson Review}

Image
Have you ever tried a  Derma Roller . I hadn't until recently, and I was really impressed. I was sent a  Derma Roller ,  Revitalize Eye Serum  and,  Best Anti-Hyaluronic Acid Serum with Vitamin C  by  Petunia Skincare . I was a little nervous to try the derma roller. However, when I used it it didn't hurt at all. If you haven't used one or heard about it they are getting very popular as a alternative to more expensive cosmetic surgical procedures. The derma roller has been proven to to stimulate collagen production. It can be used to build up pitted acne scars, large pores etc... The instructions on the derma roller says to use on clean skin and do about 10x rolls across the whole face, or you can focus on problem areas. I don't have any major problems but of course I am starting to get fine lines on my face. I love how this makes my face feel. It was especially nice when used with the Vitamin Acid Serum with Vitamin C and the Eye Serum. It really felt amazing!

Spelling You See - {TOS REVIEW}

Image
We love  Spelling You See  we have reviewed it before  here  with Captain and he is still using it. So when I was given the chance for one of the older kids to review it I was really excited. Boo actually tested in their highest level available at the moment  Modern Milestones Level G . There are seven levels currently available from A to G. What we received; Level G Modern Milestones 2 workbooks Level G Modern Milestones Teachers manual 1 pack of erasable pencil crayons Level G Modern Milestones contains 36 weeks of lessons (3 lessons and 2 dictation exercises per week). Boo actually works at a slightly faster pace however I think this program would be perfect for a year long spelling study. This is how we have been working on the Level B program with Captain that we reviewed last time. I have mentioned before that we love a traditional education and lean towards Charlotte Mason methods, which is one of the reasons we love the  Spelling You See  approach. Spelling You

Dial Kids is Awesome - Review & Giveaway

Image
As a Purex Insider I get the opportunity to try some really awesome products. Recently I was sent some products just for Captain. Of course anything that comes for Captain is welcomed with a huge smile. I got to try the new Dial Kids and Baby Collection . There are four different  body and hair wash  scents, well three really because one of them is  fragrance free  which has been developed by Pediatric Dermatologists, it's a tear free formula and pH balanced and hypoallergenic, with no parabens or artificial dyes, perfect for babies or delicate child skin. The others are  Peachy Clean ,  Watery Melon , and  Berry Cool . All are tear-free and really gentle on tender skin and hair. We tried the fragrance free body wash. Captain is a six year old boy and to be honest doesn't really care what makes his bath bubbles. However, I loved it!   Now the foaming hand soap  Captain LOVES there is something about foam soap that is appealing to everyone.  This soap is also hypoalle

1. I love city wide garage sales! 2. Boo made/decorated cupcakes at her church activity this week. They turned out really cute! 3. After having a little break (half work load) while Nana and Grandpa were visiting the kids are back on full schedule , and it feels good. 4. We school year round. I feel that it gives us a lot more flexibility during the year. The older two understand about long summer holidays, they were in public schools long enough to understand. Captain hasn't really known anything other than home school. 5. We made pizzas again for dinner. This time we tried a new recipe. Sausage, bacon, Chorizo, olives, onions, green peppers, pepperoni, fresh tomatoes, jalapenos, cheese (of course). It was delicious! ©2011-2014 Chickensbunniesandhomeschool. All rights reserved. One hour Bread Rolls - Jam is our resident Bread Maker

Image
We don't buy bread at the moment. Not because I am going through a good homemaker stage or anything. Jam is now our resident bread maker. He LOVES making bread. We found a recipe that only takes just over an hour. The original recipe calls for 2 loafs of bread in England we would have called them bloomers (like french bread - not in a pan). However lately we have found it more convenient to make bread rolls. One day I decided to make bread rolls at the last minute and honestly my original recipe takes forever (it tastes great though). So one day I just decided to try the hour bread recipe and just shape the dough into 16 bread rolls. They turned out amazing! My husband was very impressed and so were the kids. Normally we make 16 rolls but today Jam wanted sub-rolls so made 8 instead. They turned out GREAT!!! East One Hour Bread ( Makes 2 loaves or 16 Rolls) 5 ¼ cups of white flour                   2-4 tbsp sugar 1 ½ tsp salt 1 ½ tbsp instant yeast 1 ½ tbsp

100naturals Upbiotics {Tomoson Review}

Image
I haven't really ever taken probiotics. Normally I think of eating yogurt if I want a probiotic boost. So I didn't really know what to expect when I was offered  100 Naturals Upbiotics . I haven't really anything to compare them too. However, I found these very easy to take and I didn't have any ill effects. I heard that they can also help with allergies which I find very interesting, as I try to only use natural products to treat mine. There hasn't been any negative effects at all. However I have been sick this last month - nothing to do with the probiotics but it did effect how well I could tell if they were working or not. However I have noticed an improvement in my over well being. These Upbiotics are very easy to take - 2 tablets with a meal. I like tablets that allow me to take them with a meal as it's easier for me to remember. I would say these worked really well, although as I said before I don't really have much experience with a lot of other

Artist Pursuits {TOS Review}

Image
We love art and I love  Artistic Pursuits  we have reviewed two of these books before. Jam was the first one to review and then Captain. We had a great experience with them. This time I gave Boo the chance to choose a topic to learn. She was really excited and chose the  Middle School Grade 6-8 Book Two Color and Composition . As soon as we knew we had been chosen for the review I went on a little online shopping trip and stocked up on all the supplies we needed for the course. The first page of the book includes a table of contents and art supply list. Boo was very excited when our box of art supplies arrives and was chomping at the bit ready to begin. Art Supplies needed (brand recommendations) 1 - Nupastel assorted colors, set of 24 or larger 1- Sakura Cray Pas Junior Artist Oil Pastels, set of 50 1- Pastel paper pad in assorted colors 1- Drawing paper pad (white) 1- Paper stump 1- Kneaded eraser 1- Vinyl eraser 1- sharpener 1- Natural Chamois 4x4 Additional S

Leather Conditioner and Restorer {Tomoson Review}

Image
I love leather! I have leather seats in the car and leather in the living room. My husband and I decided that the leather would be a lot more serviceable with young children and we were definitely right. Except for shoes and buckles on pants, they have really kept looking really good. I was offered a bottle of  Leather Afterlife  to review and decided it would be really nice to treat the sofa. I really like the brown color of our sofa even before I used this treatment but it was amazing after. My sofa is a really nice brown, I used the  Leather Afterlife  with a microfiber sponge and rubbed it in all over. The leather became nice and shiny and soft. I really loved it. I can't wait to try it on my car seats. ©2011-2014 Chickensbunniesandhomeschool. All rights reserved. Star Toaster - Orphs of the Woodland {TOS - Review}

Image
Boo loves to read and was very excited when we were offered a years subscription to  Star Toaster 's   Orphs of The Woodlands . It's a really cool online reading adventure. A regular subscription is for two months, and honestly Boo enjoyed it so much she was done way before the end of two months. It's a good job we were offered a longer time thought because my six year old is now insisting I help him work through it, and it might take me a lot longer than 2 months to find the time to do it with him. Boo actually worked on this by herself. She's in 6th grade and found it really fun so because of this I asked her to write me a review. BOO: Orphs of the Woodlands is a story about a squirrel. I can't tell you his name because you get to name him yourself. My squirrel was called 'Tonks' (yes I'm a Harry Potter fan). The story you read is his diary. The story starts with an invitation to play. You then fill out a questionnaire and choose your cha

Memoria Press New American Cursive - Workbook One {TOS - Review}

Image
Captain has just about mastered manuscript writing - well at least when he decides to spend the time to make it neat. I asked him when this review became available if he was interested in learning cursive. He said that he wasn't sure about the cursive but he loved the Meerkat on the cover and that sold him. We received a copy of the  New American Cursive Penmanship Program Book 1 by Memoria Press . Like I mentioned above the Meerkat featured throughout the book was a huge hit with Captain. Mr Meerkat is featured throughout the book and introduces the new writing concepts. The cursive in the book is introduced in a very clear concise way. The book starts with introducing each of the alphabet formations and Mr Meerkat teaches how to write each letter and the order in which to form the letters. Captain insisted I use a funny voice whenever I read the instructions...as if I was Mr Meerkat. He really got into the concept and it made him focus a little more on the formation of

1. Today we are celebrating cousin birthday twins. I have nieces that were both born today celebrating their birthday. The oldest is turning 17 and the younger turning 9 they are both so special. I am very sad that we can't be with them both today. 2. We have been super sick ALL WEEK and it's not gone yet. Captain started with it on Friday and they gradually over the week we have all been hit. Jam and Boo have been too sick for swim practice which I think is the first time ever since we started USA swimming. Honestly it's awful. Cough, chills, fevers, aches, and pains. Luckily no stomach bug... 3. This week was supposed to be a week off for the kids as we have Nana and Grandpa here visiting from England (Yes they got sick too). However the kids ended up doing some Math and their piano practice and of course lots of reading. We also watched quite a few documentaries - I love Netflix when we are sick. 4. Remember the Emu Oil I reviewed a while back...well I restocke

Purex Crystals ScentSplash in-wash fragrance booster - Review and Giveaway {Purex Insiders}

Image
I am sure that you have all tried at least one product in the range of  Purex Fragrance Boosters . I have tried the crystals before and loved them so when I was told about this product I was very excited to try it. It is really simple to use, you literally just add it to the wash. I have a top loader and so I just added it straight to the wash while the water was running in, or you could put it in the washer tray. Because it's liquid you can really customize the amount you use. Add just a touch or a lot to customize the strength There are 2 lines on the inside of the lid. I found the first line enough and pf course it pairs perfectly with Purex Power Shot  (don't they look cute together). It can be used with all fabric types. My favorite is when I use it when washing sheets and towels. It's lasts a long time and makes my towel cupboard smell wonderful. It comes in three scents; Fresh Spring Waters, Fresh Lavender, and Fresh Mountain Breeze. The liquid dissolves str
