Enjoying the Chaos

1. Coming home from vacation is always very sad. 2. Jam went on a high adventure this week.  It's been weird without him here. The first day he had an argument with a bolder and got a really bad black eye. 3. We have spent the day playing a math game we received to review 'Shape Whiz' we have played it a lot and the first thing we did when Dad got home was to make him play it too. 4. Captain and Boo have another swim meet tomorrow.  It will be Captain's 2nd ever meet and he is SO excited. 5. I am starting to get next year's curriculum organized. I can't believe I will have a 9th grader.

1. Well the biggest thing happening in our house has a lot to do with Knex and the competition that Jam entered a few months ago. He made it to the final. My older kids know all about school holidays - however Captain has never been to school so his concept of holidays are very different. He was very excited that we have a long weekend! Basically we do school if Dad is at work. Unless of course we decide to play. The big kids really like this schedule and Captain doesn't know any different so it's all good. 3. Saying that we are planning to do a lot of swimming this summer. The kids of course start summer swim team on Tuesday. However, I am really excited about our new pool pump. We decided to change to a salt water pool. I am not sure how it works as the salt water is changed to chlorine to clean the water etc...but with ...

1. For the last week we have been in Wisconsin. To say it was bitterly cold was an understatement. 2. We drove home all 10 and half hours yesterday - which is why I didn't post. Today I am sat at a swim meet. Boo just swam her 100 Fly and qualified for finals tonight. 3. I can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight! 4. We stayed at the Tundra Lodge in Green Bay. The accomodations were excellent. However, we had a two hour wait to check in. They gave us an extra swim pass per day for the inconvenience which made up for it a bit. 5. The YMCA in Green Bay was awesome and let me take Boo to swim everyday on a day swim pass. All in all its been a fun week!

Happy New Year 1. I missed my random five last week. Mainly because I was busy celebrating boxing day with my family.  2. We had a great Christmas. Usually we get together with my extended family on Christmas Eve. However, due to the fact we could have EVERYONE together for the first time in quite a few years. It was worth waiting until Boxing Day.  3. My brother in-law has just published a book on Amazon. It's the first of three. I read it last week and really enjoyed it. My Boo has just finished it and she really liked it too! Now Jam is reading it.  Stand Alone  is about a girl name Charli. She has one unique characteristic - she can't lie. It's is a good mix of supernatural, good vs evil. I can't wait to read the next two books! 4. We ended up with an impromptu movie night tonight. We don't do sleep-overs so the kids think it's fun when they can have pizza, popcorn, and a movie with friends until 10pm! 5. Friday night for me is a nig...

It's been a great week. I can't believe it's Thanksgiving next week. 1. Boo turned 12. In our church that means she moves up from the primary (children) to the youth (12-18 year old) It's a big step for her and she's very excited. The girls came around the night before her birthday and put balloons all over our front door. 2. I think I have Christmas organized. Shhhh don't tell the kids. 3. The Review Crew is all over for another year. I have a couple of book reviews that I need to post other than that I am think I am in withdrawals. Roll on December 1st! 4. We normally take the kids out for dinner on their birthday. This year Boo asked if we could take her to the movies instead. I thought that was a great idea - so tonight we are off to the movies! I didn't tell her it actually saves us money. Since I was going to suggest a date night with the hubby to see the same movie. 5.
