Have you tried Jamberry Nails Yet? Review and Giveaway

Image
I have never been able to grow my nails. I have tried everything including the yucky paint on nail stuff I threatened my kids with. However, despite this I have an obsession with nice nails. Boo on the other hand has beautiful nails. Yet, because she spends so much time in the pool she struggles to keep her nail polish on. Then I heard about  Ellen Pool and Jamberry Nails . So I signed up and had a Facebook party and it was really fun, and I earned quite a few free and reduced price products. They are surprisingly easy to apply and they have some amazing designs. Ellen sent me a design I hadn't tried before to try so I decided to let Boo try they out as she loved the design we were sent. In fact I was sent a nice little parcel from  Ellen Pool  and I got excited all over again. I could walk you through how I applied the wraps to Boo's nails, but it wasn't that glamorous as we were sprawled over the living room floor watching a movie. Ellen sent me an application

Writing With Sharon Watson - Illuminating Literature When Worlds Collide {TOS Review}

Image
Preparing for High School was a little intimidating at first. One of the subjects I was looking for was a good literature program. When I was offered a review from  Writing with Sharon Watson  I was really excited. I haven't used any of her programs before but I have heard a lot of good things, so was really excited to try her brand new program  Illuminating Literature - When Worlds Collide . I received; Teacher Manual - Paperback Student Manual - Paperback Quiz and Answer Manual - Paperback Novel Notebook - PDF Download Pudd'nhead Wilson by Mark Twain The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells Jam was really excited to start this program. He loves to read but was pleased to find that he had only read Peter Pan before. This is great because sometimes it's really hard to find books he hasn't read that I actually want him to read. Pudd’nhead Wilson by Mark Twain The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells The Friendly Persuasion by Jessamyn West

Random Five Friday - First Homeschool Field Trip of the New School Year

Image
Today we headed out to our city Zoo for our first field trip of the new school year. It turned out to be a really fun day. I am going to give you the top five things we did today. The first thing we did was go to the bird feeding. It's Boo's favorite and they don't do it when the temperature cools down. 1. Feeding time at the Zoo! I got a kiss! 2. The kids love to have their picture taken at each statue we find at the Zoo. We have them going back for years. It's really cute to look back on them. We found a new one today. 3. Our zoo opened a new exhibit recently for the Orangutan's. It's really cool, there is a lot of fun things there. Our zoo is really working on some exciting projects right now. Captain can't wait till they put in the splash pad! 4. One of our favorite things to do at the zoo is to take some time to sit and draw. We try to pick a different thing each time. 5. Do you see the cute little water colors in the pict

Alpha Omega Publications - Horizons Spelling and Vocabulary 2nd Grade {TOS REVIEW}

We have just finished our current spelling program and because we are at the beginning of a new year I was looking for some new options. I was really interested when I was offered Horizons Spelling and Vocabulary Grade 2  from  Alpha Omega Publishing . Captain is 6 but we started Kindergarten just before he turned 5 so this coming school year we are doing 2nd grade. His last spelling program wasn't a graded program but worked on levels however he has a great vocabulary so I decided not to use  Horizons Spelling and Vocabulary Grade 1  (It looked awesome) and to follow my gut and choose the 2nd grade. I am so glad I did because just in the few weeks we have been using this program I have seen Captain's spelling and writing confidence blossom. The program itself is very simple. I received three paperback books. 1.  2nd Grade Spelling and Vocabulary Dictionary 2.  2nd Grade Spelling and Vocabulary Student Workbook 3.  2nd Grade Spelling and Vocabulary Teachers Guide
