Heirloom Audio Productions - Wulf The Saxon {TOS REVIEWS}

We love anything by Heirloom Audio Productions so we were super excited to be sent their latest audio adventure Wulf The Saxon. In fact if you have read our blog long enough you will have heard about all of the other audio productions they have produced - we own all eight of them. They are our favorite entertainment on long car journeys each story is movie length around two and a half hours. It's a great way to pass time in the car or just relaxing on a cold afternoon.

G.A Henty is a favorite here. At one time Jam had a goal of reading all of them before he graduated...I'll have to check up on how he's doing! We have not found a Heirloom Audio Production we don't like! We are also members of their Live The Adventure Club it's a fun monthly membership club where you can access a lot of extra information loads of extras including study guides, music soundtracks etc!

If you haven't ever listened to an audio adventure you can check out why they are so good here. They are different to a regular audio book, don't get me wrong - I love audio books and we listen to them all the time, especially while driving. There is something special about an audio drama. It's basically a movie for your brain. You can hear all the action and it's perfect for while you are driving.

Wulf The Saxon did not disappoint everyone loved it. The story is set in 1065 Wulf is a young Saxon landowner, serving an Earl Harold Of Godwin Earl of Essex. After a disagreement a Bishops page and some rough words to a  Norman. He finds himself being sent away from the court back to his home as a kind of punishment. His Earl says he needs to grow up and learn patience. He is sent back to his homeland taking Osgod with him. He's a little disappointed with this but takes it in his stride and he really throws himself into the task. The people that live on his land grow to love and respect him. He fulfills his promise and returns a wiser man when pardoned by Earl Harold.

Being the ward of Earl Harold he has many adventures shipwrecks, escapes, and taking over a Welsh castle, Viking invasion, and the Battle of Hastings. This story is all about the battle for the English throne!

It's so fun to be able to share British History with my children. I spent many days trying to learn the dates from some of the events in history. I often this how much easier I would have found it if I could have listened to some of these audio adventures when I was young. My kids remember so many facts about history just by listening to these adventures.

The star line up in the cast won't disappoint!

The actors that help bring this story alive are amazing. Brian Blessed does an excellent job as Henty. Helen George has been in quite a few of the latest ones too! If you love living history you will love these!
