Around the World in 80 Day's

Jam is studying 'Around the World for 80 Days' by Jules Verne for Geography this term.


One of the fun things he is doing is reading it with his Grandma!! 
She is away right now and this is a great way for them to stay close.
Grandma is reading each chapter along with Jam and they are emailing each other what they think about the book and discussing different things they find interesting!! 
Jam thinks this is so much fun! He gets to use the computer and practice his typing skills and have something in common with his Grandma at the same time!!

Jam is also going to make a lap book with his favorite highlights from the book, including a timeline.

Magnificent Tales -Treasury of Bible Stories - Review and Giveaway

For the last couple of week Captain America has really been enjoying this really cool picture book full of bible stories. Captain America has really loved these stories. In fact the very day this book came in the mail he made Dad read it from cover to cover. Just about every day since, he has convinced someone to read at least one to him. The stories are all told in rhyme which make them really fun to read as well as listen to. The pictures are also very bright and fun. The Ultimate Blog Party #UBP13

This is my first time participating in this blog party so I am kind of nervous... You know the walk into a room and not knowing any one kind. I am originally from England and have lived in the States for the last 14 years. My husband is also from England and so although out children were all born here. They still have some strange British quirks, eat British food, and pronounce things in different ways - yes my boys are cowboy boot wearing Americans through and through. The hats normally only come out for Halloween though. We starting homeschooling about two years ago when Jam was starting 5th grade and Boo 3rd. We love it. At the time we had chickens and bunnies - however we recently gave them to a friend who has a farm since we are trying to relocate closer to my husbands work. (He commutes an hour each way.) So my blog name makes me chuckle it should now be Homeschool but NO chickens and bunnies. I am excited to meet new friends. Leave me a comment to say Hi.
