Carole P. Roman - If you were me and lived in...(Schoolhouse Review)

I love books and fortunately so do my children. We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to review a set of awesome books by Carole P. Roman with Away We Go Media.

I love learning about new places. I also love teaching my children about the many places that I have been, that they haven't had the opportunity to explore yet. I used to live in England I have had the opportunity to visit France and a lot of other European countries.

The books that we received were perfect for Little J to start learning about different cultures, that said my older kids loved these books too.

We books we received were;
If You Were Me and Lived in...Mexico
If You Were Me and Lived in...South Korea
If You Were Me and Lived in...France
If You Were Me and Lived in...Norway (no link for this one yet)

Each book retails for under $9.00 and is an simple, fun way to supplement or start any geography program.

The books are geared toward children ages 3-8 however like I said earlier my older two have also enjoyed reading them.

Now let me tell you a little about the books and why we liked them.

Little J loves getting mail. A lot of the reviews we do are for his older siblings and so when I told him these books were his he was SO excited.

The first book he read was If You Were Me and Lived in...Mexico. Although we have never been to Mexico, Grandma and Grandpa have and we love Mexican food. I think this swayed Little J a little and so he wanted to read this book first.  The first thing you notice about these books is how bright and fun the illustrations are.

The company had sent us a cute blow up globe and it didn't take Little J long to remember where Mexico was.

We have read this books over and over since we have got them. Jam likes to practice using the vocabulary words. Luckily there is a handy chart at the back to help us. This made me feel a little more confident especially with the book about South Korea. We will be reading these books for a long time to come. I will definitely use them when we work on the relevant geographical location as they are a perfect introduction to the country.

When I asked Little J what he liked the most about the books his response was;

"I love the pictures, and I like to learn the new words. The book about Mexico is my favorite."
