You all know by now that I love Amish fiction. The Calling by Suzanne Woods Fisher didn't disappoint. When I agreed to review this book I didn't realize that it was the 2nd in a series. However, it didn't stop me from enjoying it. Suzanne did a great job linking the what had happened in the first book to The Calling.

Bethany Schrock is 20 years old and has taking a job helping five ancient Amish sisters. Her role is to clean through years of junk that the sisters have collected. The job itself is full of surprises but of course the real story is Bethany's love life. Jimmy Fisher is desperate to get Bethanys attention but with all that she has been through will she be able to take the chance. With the help of the old sisters and a long term guest at the inn that the Schrock family run. Bethany learns the truth about her mother, and finally finds her 'Calling'. I was really sad when I finished it, hopefully their will be a book 3 in the series soon. Believe me with all the other characters in the book it will be a good one.

For the last couple of week Captain America has really been enjoying this really cool picture book full of bible stories. Captain America has really loved these stories. In fact the very day this book came in the mail he made Dad read it from cover to cover. Just about every day since, he has convinced someone to read at least one to him. The stories are all told in rhyme which make them really fun to read as well as listen to. The pictures are also very bright and fun. This is my first time participating in this blog party so I am kind of nervous... You know the walk into a room and not knowing any one kind. I am originally from England and have lived in the States for the last 14 years. My husband is also from England and so although out children were all born here. They still have some strange British quirks, eat British food, and pronounce things in different ways - yes my boys are cowboy boot wearing Americans through and through. The hats normally only come out for Halloween though. We starting homeschooling about two years ago when Jam was starting 5th grade and Boo 3rd. We love it. At the time we had chickens and bunnies - however we recently gave them to a friend who has a farm since we are trying to relocate closer to my husbands work. (He commutes an hour each way.)
