Lava lamp experiment Apologia Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics
We had a blast today! Luckily even though it was snowing I managed to have everything in to complete chapter 1 of our new science book Captain chose.
We made Lava Lamps using a soda bottle, vegetable oil, vinegar, food coloring and alka seltzer!
It was great - check out our Instagram to see the video!
As a bonus we have been watching the The Great British Baking Show and I was intrigued with making a chocolate souffle! We were talking about density after all! We managed to scrounge enough leftover chocolate to whip one up! Captain wasn't a fan as he doesn't like dark chocolate but hubby (who was home sick), Jam and Boo loved it! It didn't last long. Which apparently is a good thing since it has to be eaten straight away!
Still making meringue and folding it in and seeing how fluffy it was, made an e,cellent bonus science lesson for Captain - even if he didn't want to eat it!
