Afterlife Furniture Polish and Conditioner Review

Image
This polish is made from the same company that makes Leather Afterlife . I loved that product on my leather and I loved it. I am not a huge 'polisher' but this stuff makes it easy. I went around polishing all my wooden furniture and kitchen cupboard doors. It was really easy to use and I loved it. The polish left the wood looking awesome and I loved the smell of oranges. If anything is an incentive to polish the smell of this polish definitely is. I love the look of natural wood, but this makes it shine.  This polish definitively does all that it claims. 1. Replenishes the essential oils all wood loses over time and restores the original luster 2. Naturally and safely cleans dust and grime from both soft and hard words 3. Polishes and protects in order to prevent further dust buildup 4. Enhances the natural beauty by bringing out the grain and details of fine wood 5. 1. Coming home from vacation is always very sad. 2. Jam went on a high adventure this week.  It's been weird without him here. The first day he had an argument with a bolder and got a really bad black eye. 3. We have spent the day playing a math game we received to review 'Shape Whiz' we have played it a lot and the first thing we did when Dad got home was to make him play it too. 4. Captain and Boo have another swim meet tomorrow.  It will be Captain's 2nd ever meet and he is SO excited. 5. I am starting to get next year's curriculum organized. I can't believe I will have a 9th grader.

Circle C Adventures (Susan K Marlow) {TOS Review}

Image
We recently had the opportunity to review  Tales from the Circle C Ranch  from  Circle C Adventures  and the  Andrea Carter's Tales from the Circle C Ranch Learning Lapbook  that compliments the book. Boo loves books and horses. She has often asked if we could get one. (I don't think the HOA would appreciate that). My parents had a horse for a little while and their stories were enough to put me off (too much like hard work!). We also have friends with horses so I figure she can get her fix that way. Another thing Boo loves is to read. Seriously, sometimes I have had to stop myself from saying 'OK, that's it no more reading for the whole day' - seriously who does that! Me - almost - until I think to myself' 'You're going to stop her from reading - really'. We reviewed another book in the Circle C Adventures earlier this year Thick as Thieves  and Boo loved it so when the opportunity came up to read this one she jumped at the chance.   Tal...

SmartKidz Media {TOS Review}

Image
Captain loves watching documentaries. He can remember fun random facts when he does. In fact last summer when my niece was visiting she said that she normally doesn't believe little kids when they say random facts, but Captain is always right, even if it sounds crazy. So I like to find new things for him to watch during his TV time. I was offered a full year subscription to  SmartKidz Media Library for Homeschoolers  from  SmartKidz Media . SmartKidz Media  is a producer and distributor of award-winning educational e-books, interactive study guides, music, and other media designed specifically for the home-school student. As I mentioned before Captain is an amazing audio/visual learner. Sometimes his memory seems almost photographic when it comes to things he has watched. He can recall facts of documentaries he has only watched once, it's really cool. So although we don't watch TV as such I do like to use his love of documentaries and audio books to my adv...

Week of Fun - Kilimanjaro Safari

Image
This week has been full of fun and sun. However I can't write all about that now. I will give you some Disney tips and tricks when I have chance this week. Today I will share some pictures Captain took this week on Disney Animal Kingdom's Safari ride. He grabbed my phone and started clicking! I think he did quite good.

CTC Math {TOS REVIEW}

Image
I recently received a 12 Month Family plan subscription to  CTC Math  to review. I love this program and so do all my kids. The family plan can be used by up to ten children which is an awesome deal! Last year I reviewed the program with my kids you can see my last review  here . During the review period Captain has been able to use this program almost completely independently. He has been working on first grade and really loves it. The fun part of him working independently is that he can jump around the schedule and do what he feels like that day. As you can see by the screenshots of his progress over the last few weeks. When the student has completed the section the check mark appears on the left hand side. Until then the orange line shows the percentage of the work completed. This program is really simple to use.  When a child signs into his account for the first time they are met with this screen. It doesn't really matter what grade t...

Random Five Friday

1. Captain wrote a really cool note today. Since we started using the PAL program from IEW his confidence has grown amazingly! If you read it carefully you can just about make out what it says. Normally he insists that I spell everything for him, so this is huge! 2. 18 hours in a car...audio dramas are the bomb! 3. It's funny as you drive how often city name's are repeated. 4. Today I have been reminiscing all of the rode trips I did as a child. My parent's always made it fun. I told my kids that I used to travel these distances without movies...they were shocked! 5. Family reunions are awesome!
