We have been fortunate to be able to use CTC's Family Plan for the last few years. All of my kids love it. Captain is using grade four for his main math program and Boo and Jam have been using it as a supplement. Don't just take our word for it - you can TRY IT FREE to find out for yourself why we like it. Also Homeschoolers get a huge discount and 6 months free until November 15th!

CTC's Family plan covers more kids than I have. It's one of the reasons I love this company. They don't expect everyone to have 2.4 kids! I think you can sign up at least five without any problems at all.

I also like that this program is so easy to navigate that Captain and do his math, have it graded, and print out a reward certificate all by himself. Captain has used this program since kindergarten and so his is pretty used to it. I don't think there is a big learning curve though it's pretty straight forward.

We have a teacher account and student accounts. If I sign in to the teacher account I can see lots of information. I can each of my child's history. It even shows when they last logged in and what work they completed! You can see below how many lessons each child has completed, what their overall grade is and whether or not they are currently working/logged in.

There are two ways you can work through the material. If your child has already covered some of the material you can assign them specific tasks or assignments. Or your child can work through each lesson in order and no assignments are necessary.

To assign specific exercises or diagnostics you would go to that section on the teacher website.

You can choose to assign a task to a recipient or all of them, this works if you have multiple kids working at the same level. If not you just add assignments to each child in turn.

As the teacher you can also decide how high the student needs to score. Mine is set to 90% you might think this is a little high but it works for us. It doesn't mark the assignment or section complete unless they score at least 90%.

The student can also see their own history when they are logged in. I went back to some of Captain's previous work to show you. This is the detailed report. It shows what lesson was worked on, the score, what their first attempt score was, the highest score and how many attempts it took for the student to pass, finally the last is the date the student passed the subject. As you can see it took Captain a little longer to pass three digit subtraction. He got 80% on the first attempt. He finally got 100% but it took 4 attempts!

Students can also go back over a section to review it, or pass it off if they know the content by completing diagnostic tests. There are three levels of tests available, 20 questions, 30 questions or 40 questions which is considered the comprehensive test.

We all really like this program. There is a video before each lesson. My kids like the accent it's from Australia and they think it's pretty cool!

The program is divided into grades until 6th and is considered a full curriculum until then. After that it is supplemental and covers different topics. Although the older grades are not considered a complete curriculum yet my kids find them very helpful as a supplement to their other programs.
