Lazy Eye Therapy

We went for another check up for Little J's eyes. Unfortunately there wasn't much improvement this time. We have to start patching his eyes Mon - Friday for a minimum of two hours a day.

He is being a a real trooper about it (with a little bribery) every Wednesday if he wears his patch with no arguments for the week then I take him to choose a treat. This week he chose a $1.00 pair of binoculars from the dollar store!

We also have to continue our eye therapy exercises.   

Here is a picture of him completing a sheet where he has to match up the upper case and lower case letters.

He loves using his dry erase markers.

Have you ever traveled to another country and been surprised by what is or isn't polite. One thing that has surprised me is language. There are a few words in the UK that are considered not polite that are common in the US and the other way around. I remember when my family had just come back from the US to live in England again. My sister said something and an older lady was offended and went to tell my mom. My mom then obviously sat us down and had a conversation about how different things are acceptable in different countries. Heirloom Audio Productions - Captain Bailey's Heir {TOS REVIEW}

We absolutely love all of the audio CD's we have from  Heirloom Audio Productions . The latest did not change that opinion  Captains Bailey's Heir  was a fantastic audio book and we all loved it. As soon as we hit play my kids comment how much they love Brian Blessed as G A Henty! If you haven't listened to any of these adventures yet you are missing out! They are awesome for car journeys. The story starts in England the hero of the adventure Frank is a great example of character. He lives with his Uncle, cousin and another girl that in the story is called his cousin - they are not related. At the beginning of the story Frank saves a dog from drowning in the ice. The dog belongs to a boy who can't walk and they become friends. He even finds the mother of the boy a job in his uncles household. Cross-Cultural Students in the Classroom

We live in a society where we come across people from different cultures every day. I think more people move to live in other countries than ever before.  People moving to different countries means cross-cultural experiences in the classroom for students and teachers. When I was eight my parents moved to the United States. My dad was in the RAF (Royal Air Force) and had been advised to send my older sister and me to boarding school. The thought behind it was that moving to the States and the difference in education would affect our long-term education. My parents didn't agree, they thought that moving to another country as a family and having new experiences together would be better for us. So as a nine-year-old I started school on a military base in the middle of Nebraska. I had a great experience and it was my first experience being in a different culture.
