Random 5 Friday

WE SOLD OUR HOUSE TODAY.

Now we just need to move out.

Today's Random five is focusing on Boo my ten year old.

1. Boo was prayed for in a very specific way. After Heather's death I desperately wanted another girl. Not to take her place, no one could ever do that. However I wanted a little girl with dark hair, dark eyes, so when I looked in her eyes I would see her for her own person, not a reflection of Heather.



2. As Boo grew she was given her nick-name by Jam. He thought she looked like the little girl from Monsters Inc and called her Boo. It stuck...

 


 3. Boo and her cousin were born 8 weeks apart. They have ALWAYS been best friends.

4. Boo loves music, she has been playing the piano since she was five and is getting really good. We have crossed the barrier between childish songs and music. I love to sit and listen to her play. Sometimes she gets to play on Sunday, in primary opening exercises.

5. Boo loves to draw too.

Boo is definitely a blessing and a comfort to me. She is a wonderful big sister and tries so hard to be helpful and hardworking.

Magnificent Tales -Treasury of Bible Stories - Review and Giveaway

For the last couple of week Captain America has really been enjoying this really cool picture book full of bible stories. Captain America has really loved these stories. In fact the very day this book came in the mail he made Dad read it from cover to cover. Just about every day since, he has convinced someone to read at least one to him. The stories are all told in rhyme which make them really fun to read as well as listen to. The pictures are also very bright and fun. The Ultimate Blog Party #UBP13

This is my first time participating in this blog party so I am kind of nervous... You know the walk into a room and not knowing any one kind. I am originally from England and have lived in the States for the last 14 years. My husband is also from England and so although out children were all born here. They still have some strange British quirks, eat British food, and pronounce things in different ways - yes my boys are cowboy boot wearing Americans through and through. The hats normally only come out for Halloween though. We starting homeschooling about two years ago when Jam was starting 5th grade and Boo 3rd. We love it. At the time we had chickens and bunnies - however we recently gave them to a friend who has a farm since we are trying to relocate closer to my husbands work. (He commutes an hour each way.) So my blog name makes me chuckle it should now be Homeschool but NO chickens and bunnies. I am excited to meet new friends. Leave me a comment to say Hi.
