An Amish Miracle - BookLook Bloggers Book Review

This book is a collection of three different stories.

Always Beautiful by Beth Wiseman is a short story about Becky Byler. Becky is 18 and overweight. She is embarrassed and like most girls compares herself to other girls in her community. She gets so depressed that she is considering taking her life. However realizing she could never do this she asks God for a miracle. This story is an interesting look at the fact that how we look reflects how we feel. But do all changes make us better people. Read the book to see what Becky learned about herself. When she liked what she looked like, did she like the person she became.

Always His Providence by Ruth Reid Widow Rosa Hostetler is running out of time to pay her taxes before her farm is due to be auctioned by the county. She is willing to sell anything but doesn't want a hand out from the communities Widow fund. She is embarrassed and doesn't want to admit she might need help. When her income of selling eggs is threatened she needs a miracle. I enjoyed this story it reminded me that sometimes we need to ask for help.

Always in My Heart by Mary Ellis Hope Bowman gave up a child for adoption and now married has only daughters. She believes that God is punishing her. She has kept this a secret from her husband and daughters and the pain is making her suffer terribly. She prays for a son however, her prayer is not answered in the way she thought it would. I love this story, it's about honesty, forgiveness (including forgiving oneself) and the ability to understand God's will.

This collection of stories are very pleasant. I think it took just over a day for me to finish the book. I found them uplifting and very easy to read.

I got a copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers.
