Random Five Friday - April 3rd

1. It's been a crazy week of weather. We have been up to 76 degrees and down to 46.

2. I have a friend who just posted her new book on Amazon called The Ghosts of Gifford Hall I haven't bought a book just for me on Amazon for ages. Normally I just purchase books the kids need for school and I just read what I can find for free. However I bought this book to support my friend. I wasn't sure what to expect but WOW I was blown away! It is awesome. I don't like anything too scary, and I am quite hard to please as I love a story to drag me in straight away. This book did just that. Boo and Jam have both read it too and LOVED it! They keep on asking me when book 2 is coming...I told my friend she needs to hurry before my kids drive me crazy. 3. I can't wait to make our Easter nests tomorrow! I love Easter weekend.

5. I can't believe Nana and Grandpa have been here for over a week! Plus my parents come home from England Monday - I can't wait, I have missed them like crazy!!!

Differences in Manners

Have you ever traveled to another country and been surprised by what is or isn't polite. One thing that has surprised me is language. There are a few words in the UK that are considered not polite that are common in the US and the other way around. I remember when my family had just come back from the US to live in England again. My sister said something and an older lady was offended and went to tell my mom. My mom then obviously sat us down and had a conversation about how different things are acceptable in different countries. Obviously, my sister didn't use that word again...and I'm not even going to tell you what it was ☺ The article  13 examples of Good and Bad manners around the world  lists some examples that you may not have heard of; Is belching (burping) always considered rude? For the last couple of week Captain America has really been enjoying this really cool picture book full of bible stories. Captain America has really loved these stories. In fact the very day this book came in the mail he made Dad read it from cover to cover. Just about every day since, he has convinced someone to read at least one to him. The stories are all told in rhyme which make them really fun to read as well as listen to. The pictures are also very bright and fun.
