Do you take snow days or sun days!
Last winter, Captain was a little put out when our local school district had to close for a couple of days because of snow. I tried to explain that they closed because the children would not have been safe going to school. He asked why we didn't have snow days. I asked him if the snow made it difficult to get to the table with his school books. He laughed and said of course not. So there you have it! I said, that's why we don't have snow days. I don't think he was convinced but we continued with school anyway.
We have recently moved, this summer has been a lot cooler than our previous summers. In fact my kids have asked all summer...when is summer coming. So last week out of the blue...at the end of September, we had a super hot day. Well hot for here anyway. So as a complete surprise I announced that we were going to take a SUN day! Yep that's right :) my kids were super excited especially Captain. I explained that since we don't take snow days we can take the occasional SUN day. It works for those random days in the middle winter when the temperature suddenly gets warm enough for a day at the zoo, or like last week when we run off to the beach!
Captain has decided that he likes SUN days...we will wait and see when the snow comes.
